Review of Ann Seig's new book 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.
11.24.07 (11:05 pm)   [edit]

Ann Sieg has really "hit the nail on the head" with her controversial report "the 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing."

Hands up if you are struggling with your network marketing business? You're not alone? Here are some startling statistics:

- Up to 90% of distributors will "wave the white flag" within the first three months of starting their business declaring it's all too hard and expensive

- Over 95% of people will quit their business within the first 12 months

- Even more startling, up to 80% of distributors will never experience the excitement of sponsoring their first recruit

If you are a network marketer and disturbed by these stats then you should be. Ann has put into words what many network marketers have been frightened to say. She exposes the virtual lies many of us have been told about growing an MLM business.

I will admit when I first read the title "The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing" I thought..."here we go, another network marketing basher." But after I read the report, I felt somewhat ashamed and disillusioned.

Network marketing is a great vehicle for achieving financial success yet many don't even get out of the starting blocks. Why? Because what used to work many years ago simply doesn't work today.

Distributors are told that everyone is a prospect and network marketing is not sales but just the sharing of products. We've been told that anyone can do this business and in many instances, been bluffed into thinking that we'll have our businesses built for us if we just join.

The 7 Great Lies explores each of these myths in detail and if it resonates with you, then you need to start thinking about how to really build your business.

Network marketing is a great business concept and it's mystifying why so many people fail in it. Until I read "The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing" I thought it had something to do with the way people work their business and the lack of action they took.

After reading the book, a few truths have been hit home but the best part is, it's given many of us renewed confidence and enthusiasm that yes, we really can build a successful MLM business.    C heck out this free e book by Ann Seig.

Success in Network Marketing
11.22.07 (11:45 pm)   [edit]
Achieving success in network marketing takes more than just having faith and belief in your company, your system or even your ultimate goal. There is a missing component many distributors overlook or simply dismiss as unnecessary to the growth of their business. In fact, it's just about the single most important ingredient to becoming successful in the network marketing business... The investment you make in YOU. Having a short term goal is a great start. Combining this with a long term goal is even better. Generating targeted leads; people who really want to hear what your offer is all about, completes another part of the network marketing puzzle. But the one piece many simply don't put enough time into is investing in themselves. What Do We Mean By Investing In Yourself? Simple. Without a daily dose of self improvement and motivational exercise, climbing your way to the top of the achievment mountain is nearly impossible. Did you know you can just about cheat yourway to success? That's right, hang out with those who have that millionaire or even billionaire mindset. The best way to do this is by simply reading and listening to motivational material. There's an old theory that if you hang out long enough with successful people then your mindest begins to change. You begin to think and act like them and before long, what you once considered a satisfactory level of accomplishment, pales into insignificance to what you're really capable of producing. That's the power of listening to motivational material on a daily basis! It literally changes your perceptions about your real worth and helps remove self-limiting boundaries often put in place by yourself. Whether it's someone well known on the success circuit like a Jack Canfield or Jim Rohn or whether it's somebody who is successful within your own company or in your upline. It's amazing. Many consider even 15 to 20 minutes of motivational stuff as simply brainwashing. When you're building a network marketing business, the truth is, it's simply gold. Failure in the MLM business is horrendous. Many quit within the first 2-3 months. Failure is common in this business however, it's part and parcel of achieving ultimate success. Motivational stuff will keep you on track and put the failures into perspective. Developing the same mindset as the millionaires is as easy as inviting them into your home on a daily basis. Eventually, it will begin to rub off and that's a key element in building your network marketing business. http://marksteam.ownanewbusiness.com" title="http://marksteam.ownanewbusiness.com" target="_blank"http://marksteam.ownanewbusin...

Staying Focused in your Network Marketing Business
11.20.07 (11:50 pm)   [edit]
Many people look for the shortcut to success in building their network marketing business. Is there a shortcut to success? The simple answer is no. So what are the main ingredients to building a successful network marketing business? The obvious answer to this is developing a long term strategy. It's developing a long term mindset to achieve ultimate success littered with several short term victories along the way. If you are entering the MLM business and have been lured in by the promise of fabulous wealth that's fine. But if you have been promised instant riches which will have you sipping cocktails on a beach within a few short months then run a mile! Building a successful network marketing business is a marathon. It's about laying a solid foundation which will sustain any failures you encounter along the road to your ultimate target. It's reaching your long term goal by achieving short term goals along the way. Focus And Discipline Are Key You've probably heard these two words in the same sentence all too often...focus and discipline. How many of you have actually taken the time to apply them to your long term plan? One without the other is okay but when you combine both and stick steadfastly to your two, three or five year plan, then you've hit pay dirt. Applying a strong focus as to why you're running a network marketing business means you have established the reasons you want financial security. Your business is simply a means of transport from where you are today to where you want to be in the future. Discipline is the motivator. It's there when your interest starts to roll off the tracks. It may be you've gone through a series of failures such as several rejections from people you considered hot prospects. Understandably, this would affect your overall enthusiasm and invite thoughts of doubt into your mind. This is when discipline must be put into play. Go over the reasons why you are building your network marketing business; the same reasons which were strong enough to motivate you to take action in the first place. It may have been because of the lack of money in your life or it could have been for reasons of fear such as not having enough capital to sustain you during your retirement years. This is when getting advice from those with a millionaire mindset comes into play. We're talking about listening to motivational material or speaking with successful members in your upline. Above all though, keep your eye on the ball through focus and make sure you never let your discipline taper off. It's the life jacket in your network marketing business which will keep you afloat when the focus becomes blurred. http://markphelps.the7greatliesofnetworkmar keting.com" title="http://markphelps.the7greatliesofnetworkmar keting.com" target="_blank"http://markphelps.the7greatli...
